Marcella is an assistant professor of silviculture in the Department of Forest Resources at the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include silviculture, applied forest ecology, adaptive management, and ecological forestry. Marcella researches forest dynamics. This entails understanding the development of forests under current climatic disturbances. This information can be used to inform better forest management strategies.
Marcella loves all of Minnesota’s seasons and passes her time outdoors no matter the weather. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, Marcella hikes and bikes. During the winter, you can find her snow showing by herself or with her family. Indoors, Marcella likes to cook and knit and hopes to someday complete a sweater.
