We have been so busy with experiments lately, it’s hard to keep up! We have been completing a lot of saturated debris flow experiments in the past week. They are, shockingly enough, very difficult to keep contained. We have to be very careful with how much water we use and how strong our flow is. I can’t wait to see our results!

Yesterday, us at the Civil Engineering building tried an experiment that certainly had some interesting results. The debris flow supply was slightly saturated, but held together so much that it didn’t even reach our camera! I guess we learned something, huh?

Yesterday we ran our first wet experiment in the flume. We had a couple leaks and using a spray bottle was a pain, but it made for a great simulation!

(Also wet beads feel super weird)

Today at the Civil Engineering building, we struggled with pesky computer problems. Puzzles can be fun, right?
