Here on Flathead lake, tourists run the road. Traveling between huckleberry sites can take an hour or more sometimes!

Finally got all my wildlife cameras out in the field and operating! Ready to hurry up and wait. There was especially fresh bear scat at this particular site so lets cross our fingers for some awesome photos and that I don’t have to use my bear spray when I go to check it throughout the summer.
I took my kids up the trail where one of our study sites is. We had a nice lunch by North Crow Creek!
Week one down, a whole summer to go! Most of all I am looking forward to getting to be outside as much as I want all summer long. Now that we’ve got the doldrums of intro week down, we can really get down to business and start science!
